Students at Luckley House School have excelled yet again in their GCSE exams with 20% of all grades at Grade 9 (A*+ equivalent), 61% at Grade 7-9 (A*+ to A equivalent) and 74% at 6-9 (A*+ to B equivalent). This is an outstanding achievement, particularly given the difficult circumstances presented to this cohort over the course of their GCSE studies.
Computer Science students were on top form, with 100% Grade 7 to 9, with 86% of these at the highest grade 9. Over 80% at Grade 7-9 was also achieved by students taking History (85%), PE (82%), Music (83%), Food & Nutrition (89%) and Drama (81%).
Amongst the celebrations for students achieving a clean sweep of Grade 7 and above is Charlotte M who achieved nine 9s and one 7.
Charlotte said: “I don’t quite know how to put into words what Luckley has done for me. I have got the results I have always dreamed of and it’s all thanks to the wonderful staff and support system in place!”
Hannah D achieved an excellent set of results, including a Grade 9 in Drama.
Hannah said: “I am so happy with my results. I am celebrating by spending the day in the Whitty Theatre helping Mr Bamber (Theatre Manager) with the technical aspects of a summer school production”. Hannah will be taking Drama as one of her A level subjects at Luckley, specialising in the technical aspects of theatre, including sound and lighting.
Mrs Areti Bizior, Head said:
